Diversity and Inclusion in our Workforce

We are proud to have over 4,000 team members of over 65 nationalities from around the world across our 16 global production sites. We value the diverse perspectives and experiences that our workforce brings to our company. 

Our goal is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace for both our current colleagues and future team members. To achieve this, we identified four main focus areas and established a global D&I organization. This global D&I organization consists of colleagues from various divisions, locations, age groups, and hierarchical levels, appointed to act as ambassadors and change agents. They implement initiatives that span our global sites and localized national programs, addressing both global and specific local needs. 

Charter of Diversity

Our Charter of Diversity upholds values that guarantee that all employees have access to opportunities for training and development, promoting an awareness and respect of diversity and inclusion. We hold ourselves accountable for making significant progress toward attaining our diversity and inclusion goals by actively tracking and evaluating our results.  

As signatories to the Charter of Diversity, our board members at Semperit reaffirm our dedication to diversity and inclusion.

Setting of Gender Targets as an Integral Part of Sustainability Strategy 2030

In October 2023, our Executive Board set ambitious gender diversity targets to be achieved by 2030. For simplicity, we refer to these targets as a female quota, which includes all non-male genders. Starting in 2024, our annual goals are: 

  • A 0.5% overall increase in the number of women across the whole company compared to the previous year. 
  • A 1.0% increase in female leaders (employees with direct personnel responsibility) compared to the previous year. 
  • A 1.0% increase in female senior leaders compared to the previous year. 

These targets aim to enhance gender diversity throughout our organization, with a clear focus on people leadership roles. At Semperit, we strive to lead a rethinking process in the industrial labor market and to be an attractive employer for everyone, regardless of gender. 

Our Commitment to SDG 5 Gender Equality

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global objectives established by the United Nations in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Sustainable Development Goal 5 concerns gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls.

Diversity and respect are integral and indispensable components of our corporate culture. This is also true when filling our positions. In 2023, Semperit made an important step towards equality by setting quantitative targets for gender distribution. This is reflected in a triple quota for women across the entire organization, in management and senior management, as well as in the signing of the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles.  

We believe that embracing diversity is a strategic advantage and a moral imperative. We’re dedicated to breaking down barriers, fostering an inclusive culture, and providing equal opportunities for every woman in our organization. We view it as an opportunity to drive change in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Our goal is to build on a future that is both fair and competitive, fostering innovation and making industrial companies appealing workplaces for individuals of all genders.

We are proud to be part of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) initiative. Established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact, the WEPs provide guiding principles to promote gender equality and empower women in the workplace.

  • Range of all sizes for safety equipment at our global sites

  • Global awareness campaigns for topics surrounding D&I

Our Code of Conduct is the compass that guides our behavior at work. It acts as a daily reference, guiding us to make better choices and ensuring our actions align with our core values and ethical standards. It offers high-level guidance on our policies, guidelines, and instructions framework.  

It supports us in defining a common ethical path and sets clear standards and expectations for how we act and react in various situations. By adhering to this code, we create a cohesive and respectful work environment where everyone can thrive.
