Helmut Sorger

Helmut Sorger was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Semperit AG Holding effective October 1, 2022. In this function, he is responsible for the finance area of the Industrial, Medical and North America Sectors, as well as Accounting & Tax, Chief Information Security Office, Compliance, Controlling, IT, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Treasury.

Holding a doctorate in social sciences and economics, Helmut Sorger began his career as a research assistant and university lecturer at the department for Quantitative Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. In 2007 he joined Wienerberger in the Corporate Controlling Department. In the same year, Helmut Sorger took over as Head of Financial Reporting. In the summer of 2010, he moved to the US and served as Director Finance and IT of General Shale Brick Inc. In 2013 he returned to Vienna taking on the responsibility as Head of Corporate Reporting of Wienerberger AG.

In the beginning of 2015, Helmut Sorger became CFO of the North America region and thus Head of the finance division of Wienerberger AG for the following seven years. Helmut Sorger was born in Klagenfurt, Austria in 1978. He is married and the father of a daughter and a son
