Skin-Friendly Sempermed® Innovations at MEDICA 2014
Vienna, Austria/Düsseldorf, Germany, 11 November 2014 – Sempermed, one of the world’s leading producers of medical gloves, is showcasing its products under the motto “Skin-Friendly Innovations” at MEDICA, the largest international trade show for medicine and medical technology to be held from November 12-15, 2014. In addition to the latex- and accelerator-free surgical glove Sempermed® Syntegra UV, the globally operating company Sempermed is presenting two new skin-friendly examination gloves. In line with the saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure“, the latest innovations focus on the issue of skin-friendliness. Both Sempercare® soft as well as Sempercare® silk are suited for users with sensitive skin, because the gloves protect them even during prolonged wear without burdening the skin.
Sempercare® silk – silk for sensitive skin
Sempercare® silk combines protection against infection with skin care technologies from the cosmetics industry. The white examination gloves boast a special film enriched with liquid silk on the inside of the glove, which also protects and nurtures and skin even in the case of extended wear. The liquid silk protects the natural protective layer of the skin against excessive dehydration and contributes to a silky-smooth feeling on the skin.
Sempercare® soft – soft material for sensitive skin
Sempercare® soft is a light pink examination glove which provides reliable protection against liquids and viruses. Its soft material enables the user to experience a particularly high level of wearing comfort.
Both Sempercare® silk and Sempercare® soft are powder-free and free of natural latex proteins. For this reason, they are optimally suited for users suffering from or wanting to prevent type-I allergies. The two new gloves are also suitable for dental practices, the entire field of registered medical practitioners as well as for personal protective equipment and laboratory purposes.
Sempermed® Syntegra UV – award-winning surgical glove
A further highlight at the Sempermed trade fair stand is the patented Sempermed® Syntegra UV. This product innovation enabled Sempermed to become the world’s first producer to offer a surgical glove from the natural latex-related material polyisoprene, which is interlinked by ultraviolet light instead of allergenic accelerator chemicals. At the same time, it also offers the wearing comfort of a latex glove. In this way Sempermed® Syntegra UV fulfils the special needs of users who suffer from a type-I allergy (latex incompatibility) which can be triggered by accelerators in production processes (type-IV allergy). The glove has the feel of natural latex with respect to its sense of touch and snugness. “The skin-friendly glove Sempermed® Syntegra UV is highly recommended for sensitive areas such as emergency surgery and paediatrics. Fundamentally speaking the concept of prevention applies to all workers in the health care system”, states Clemens Eichler, Head of Segment Sempermed.
